PROFESSIONAL PROFILE: DAVID HASELDINE
David Haseldine has been a member of the financial services industry for over 25 years. In the past you might have heard him on his radio show ‘Money Talks’ or seen him on Sky Business or read an article in the Sunday Herald.
His career started in 1986 at Perpetual Trustees, where he was involved in technical areas: trustee work, company financial analysis, trust deed negotiations and registrations. During this period he completed his SIA Dip Financial Markets before moving to the firm that was Clayton Robard in 1989.
It was here that David was assigned the responsibility of reporting to research establishments as well as the advisor community. He used his earlier experience to pursue work on prospectus maintenance and, among other tasks, the restructuring of unlisted property trusts.
March 1996 saw David complete his Diploma of Financial Planning (DFP) so that he could take the step to become a financial planner to work within the ISG organisation.
In 2010, after fourteen years’ front line experience, David founded his own financial planning firm, The Updated Investor Pty Ltd, to provide advice on investments, risk management and the organising of estate information.
Conscious that too many people fall victim to a ‘set-and-forget’ routine by their service providers, David believes that his clients want a more active approach - to be kept abreast of key events that take place in the financial world. They need, in short, to be kept ‘updated’.
The Updated Investor focuses, in the main, on the needs of busy people who find they have little time to devote to personal and family financial issues and seek instead to have them handled by a competent, experienced and dependable resource. This is precisely what David provides.
His promise is high-touch, personal service whether required for a specific one-off issue or on at ‘at call’ basis.
Clients can choose how they wish to pay for services (directly by fees or indirectly by building a fee into their investment, indeed, by a combination of these).
If you are seeking the promise of ‘expectations exceeded’, David Haseldine’s firm is here to provide it.
